Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties each conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

But it was good to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that battle.

They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they might plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, we said on a program that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled big and recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in positive situations.

This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, being able to throw on the run, and finding varied release points to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the field downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton has won a championship and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. I think the achievements Denver are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
