'Our Mission Is Only Killing' - The Way Sudan's Brutal Militia Carried out a Mass Killing

Alert: This Account Includes Explicit Descriptions of Killings.

Combatants chuckle as they travel on the rear of a pick-up truck, racing past a series of several lifeless forms and heading in the direction of the descending African sunset.

"See all this accomplishment. See this act of ethnic cleansing," a combatant exclaims.

The individual beams as he points the camera on his own face and his associate combatants, their Rapid Support Forces badges visible: "They shall all die this way."

The combatants are rejoicing over a massacre that aid workers suspect resulted in the deaths of more than 2,000 civilians in the Sudan's urban center of el-Fasher during October.

A City Severed from the World

Having held the urban area under siege for almost an extended period, from late summer the RSF advanced to consolidate its position and blockade the leftover civilian population.

Space-based imagery demonstrate that forces began to construct a enormous berm - a elevated earthen wall - surrounding the boundaries of the city, closing access routes and blocking aid.

As the siege escalated, seventy-eight individuals were killed in an paramilitary assault on a mosque on 19 September, while the international organization said fifty-three more were murdered in drone and cannon attacks on a makeshift community in the autumn.

Disturbing Footage Reveals Defenseless Individuals Shot

In the early morning on late October the militia defeated the last military positions and took control of the primary base in the city, the command center of the Military Unit, as the army withdrew.

Perhaps the most disturbing footage to appear and analysed depicted the aftermath of a atrocity at a university building on the western of the community, where dozens dead bodies were seen strewn across the ground.

A senior individual dressed in a traditional garment was seated alone amongst the bodies. The man turned to glance as a combatant carrying with a rifle moved down the steps towards the victim. Raising his weapon, the fighter discharged a one shot at the victim, who collapsed to the floor still.

"How come is this individual even living," another combatant exclaimed. "Execute this person."

Space-based imagery captured on late October indicated to verify that executions were furthermore conducted on the thoroughfares of al-Fashir, based on a analysis issued by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.

One observer who spoke reported they had observed "many of our kin being massacred - these individuals were collected in one place and all killed."

RSF Officers Try to Conduct Damage Control

During the period that ensued from the atrocity, militia leader acknowledged that his troops had perpetrated "atrocities" and stated the incidents would be investigated.

Part of the detained was following a report detailing his murders. Carefully choreographed and produced video published on the militia's authorized social media channel show the commander being escorted into a cell at a prison on the edges of the city.

Simultaneously, the militia and associated digital channels began seeking to alter the account.

Content depicting its militiamen handing out supplies to civilians were circulated by several users, while the militia's media office published several recordings allegedly to show the compassionate handling of army captives.

Despite the online campaign being used by the militia, their activities in al-Fashir have generated international outrage.
