Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have got plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
